What people get wrong about the United Kingdom
The flag question offers Norway, Iceland and Finland, so the choice is between one Union Jack and three off-centre crosses. Norway is red with a blue cross, Iceland blue with a red cross, Finland white with a blue cross. Only the Union Jack has diagonals. The outline is shown beside Ireland, Norway and Iceland. Great Britain is the tall island with the bulge of Wales to the west and the Scottish coast breaking up at the top; the outline includes Northern Ireland, which is the piece people forget.
The capital question is London. There is no UK trivia, but the numbers round comes back to Britain four times: the population, 67 million, the Thames, 346 kilometres, and two dates, 1947 for India's independence and 1922 for Egypt's recognition. Explorer marks Big Ben, Tower Bridge, Stonehenge, Edinburgh Castle and Loch Ness easy. The Giant's Causeway is marked hard. Tortola, in the British Virgin Islands, is filed under the United Kingdom and pinned in the Caribbean, which is the one that gets people.
