What people get wrong about the United States
The flag question offers Cuba, Chile and Uruguay, all of them stars and stripes in red, white and blue. Cuba has one star in a red triangle; Chile has one star in a blue canton; Uruguay has a sun. Fifty stars means the United States, and you do not need to count them. The outline sits beside Canada, Mexico and Brazil. Alaska and Hawaii are included, which throws people who expect the lower 48 alone.
The trivia asks for the capital and offers New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago as the alternatives. Washington, D.C. is the answer. The currency is the US dollar. In numbers we hold the population, 335 million, the area, 9,834 thousand square kilometres, and the year of the declaration of independence, 1776. Explorer marks the Statue of Liberty, the Golden Gate Bridge and Mount Rushmore easy. Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Monument Valley and Bryce Canyon are marked hard. They all sit in the same corner of Arizona and Utah, which is the thing to know. Tutuila and Niʻihau are the two players never place: one is American Samoa, the other is Hawaii.
